The Split Bean Splitboard is a deep snow unicorn in snowboard form. Engineered with backcountry powder on the mind, the K2 Split Bean is directional in both shape and aesthetic. A long, exaggerated tip and a tapered swallow tail helps to float in the deep-white-gold. With a flat camber profile underfoot, and our Tweakend rocker profile based upon an ellipse in the tip, the Split Bean feels predictable when it gets hairy above the treeline. To help accommodate the short length, we've leaned our Volume Shift mindset - adding width to the waist while subtracting length from the tip and tail. This helps to recreate float like a board much longer, allowing you to downsize 10-15cm from your traditional splitboard for tight turning pow maneuverability. To balance out the width of the Split Bean, we've placed a biax glass around a sustainably harvested tri-blend core. This helps to make the board feel relaxed torsionally while still give you all the snap you need thanks to the tip-to-tail bamboo stringers. The SplitTrack binding mount system includes mounting pucks and templates that help guide you through the process of custom fitting your stance - dialing in the width and angles. We lean on a Sintered 4000 base, a material known to be fast, durable, and hold wax longer than most competitors. To top it off, we use a specially created, and K2 branded, POMOCA Blended Mohair/Nylon climbing skins that provide superior grip and glide on the skin track while resisting clumping and ice build up.
